I"m finally back here again! :) I started a facebook page and that is a lot more up to date. 'Like' Country Inspirations and you'll be able to stay current with new prints & new fabrics! I now create rattle taggie blocks- one really popular seller! I'm also just starting diaper clutches. We'll be at Kutztown Folk Festival at the end on June/beginning of July where we will introduce them for the first time!
Last year was the first year we started doing large craft shows, and we found that we really enjoyed them! This year we are not doing many, but we chose events that we think will be truly exciting. You can read more about them in the Upcoming Events page. We'll do the Kutztown Folk Festival in July; this is a week long event, so we are anxious to see what it is like! We've never attended this show before, even as visitors.
Now that the children's aprons have been completed and online for a couple weeks, we are busy with the next project! Garden Aprons will be our next new project. Like the children's aprons, they will feature embroidered designs. Of course, gardening is serious work for some people. So a gardening apron needs to be serious about work too! These aprons will feature deep pockets the full width of the skirt. Special pockets for cell phones and pruning shear, as well as a key ring, will be included.
Ah, the joy of breakdowns... The children's aprons are a bit delayed due to the embroidery machine spending some time in the repair shop. But, the embroidery is done. This week should see the aprons finally completed, photographed, and published online. Can't wait to see them here...
Our children's aprons are nearing completion! Next week we hope to have all of them online. Expect to see lots of cute prints, including monkeys, cats, fruit, and more. All will included embroidered pockets, with designs complementing the prints. Here's a picture of one of the first aprons.
Our kitchen aprons have become our hottest seller, so we've begun revising our site to reflect that. Over the next week, expect to see even more prints in the Cathedral Window design. There should around 40 in all! Then, we have some new aprons in the mix... We will be introducing some children's aprons, which will fit ages 4-8. These will use all kinds of fun, girly prints, and I can't wait to get the first ones finished. They will all feature some kind of embroidery as well.

Ah, another craft show down! As usual, we enjoyed the day, and this time we took our children along! We were near a lake and also a small park, and both of our children enjoyed that. Jeremy's wooden signs and my children's quiet books both sold rather well, but still those handmade kitchen aprons topped the list! Did you know that aprons can be used as decor? One customer confessed that she would never wear an apron, but she likes to hang them in her kitchen!
Ah, back home and recharged after the Shippensburg Corn Festival! We left at 3:15 AM Saturday morning, and got home a little after 9:00 PM- definitely a long day! It was fascinating to see what kind of home decor or kitchen accessories got the most attention. As we anticipated, the handmade kitchen aprons were a big hit, especially the polka dots!
It's been a while since I've posted a blog- it's been a very short, busy summer! Tomorrow we will be at the Shippensburg Corn Festival, our second craft show for the season. I'm definitely excited about this event! It attracts around 40,000 people, and the weather should be perfect tomorrow! I will be taking some new products along, such as patchwork table runners. And I've got some new exciting prints in kitchen aprons, including a great polka dot print.
